CPR for the Professional Rescuer- (American Safety & Health Institute)

  • This course is designed for those health care workers who may be required to provide CPR in the course of their employment responsibilities.  This course covers advanced topics involved in CPR and Emergency Cardiac Care that may face a Health Professional

What you will receive:

  • ASHI certification card (valid for two years) and student book

What you will learn:

  • Risk factors for a heart attack and / or stroke
  • Information about normal heart and lung functions
  • How to recognize a life threatening emergency for an adult, child and infant
  • When and how to properly activate the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) systems
  • How to make a difference in the outcome of an emergency
  • How to provide Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • What to do in case of an airway obstruction (choking) for an adult, child and infant
  • How to provide care for a life-threatening bleeding emergency
  • How to provide care for an adult, child and infant who may be in shock
  • Good Samaritan Laws
  • Use of barrier devices to prevent transmission of disease during mouth to mouth
  • Use of bag mask devices
  • Two person CPR
  • Use of Automated External Defibrillator (AED)

Recommended Course Length:

  • Eight hours
